If you haven’t already figured this out, our company (and this website) exists for a couple of reasons. First, we love to help people improve themselves and their businesses. And second, we make a living doing this! However, the FTC assumes that if we don’t directly tell you that we make money in certain ways, that we would be misleading you, and therefore requires that we disclose any bias that we may hold in products we suggest, recommendations we make, etc. Since that would be incredibly tedious to do each any every time we provide an link, we’re just laying the cards out on the table now. So, here it goes…
Some of our content earns us income, and we are affiliates of some of the products we link to. We earn money in several ways via this site and our associated sites, including some obvious ways:
- Selling direct products
And some less obvious ways:
- Affiliate commissions
- Product Reviews
That being said, you should assume that if you click on a link to another site, or watch one of our videos, or purchase a product we recommend, or click an ad, we are probably making some money.
We also occasionally get free stuff to do product reviews, or just because someone wanted to give us something. Sometimes the stuff is great. Other times it is not. We will recommend stuff we think is great, but keep in mind that we may have received a free copy of it, so we encourage you to do your own research as well. Also, if you decide you want to buy something that we’ve recommended, of course we want you to use our affiliate link, but we’re not in the business of recommending terrible products just to make money. We liked it (free or not) and thought you might too. So to sum it up, for affiliate and partnership links, we recommend stuff we have analyzed and/or used extensively, and enjoyed. Just keep in mind that we may have bribed to say that.
For the few ads that run on the site, they are generally contextual ads, and are based on the content of the site. We don’t test and/or analyze their products.
If you have any questions about our monetization policies, please feel free to contact us. We haven’t found a way to get paid for that… yet.
